Word of the Week: Fascia

The fascia is the outside corner board on a cornice. The cornice found at the end of the eaves and is made up of the fascia and soffits.

Besides being decorative, the fascia, along with the soffit encloses the overhang. It can also act as surface to fasten rain gutters to and protects the ends of roof rafters from water intrusion.
Spring is the time of year to give your fascia a facelift! Repaint your trim to preserve the wood underneath.
